Trolley Ride

A fun way to get around the city and see the sights is to take a Trolley ride! This is an especially good way to get around town if you’ve been searching for things to do with kids in Gig Harbor. Even if you end up going to do “adult” stuff these kids will appreciate that they at least get to ride the trolley.

Ferry

If you want to head north to Seattle at the end of the day, or some to Gig Harbor from Seattle, a great option is a ferry ride! Unfortunately there is no direct ferry to Gig Harbor.

The closest ferry to Gig Harbor leaves out of Bremerton, which is about 20 minutes north of Gig Harbor. See ferry schedules here.

Harbor History Museum

Not just for the history buffs in your group. The Harbor History Museum has all sorts of cool information on the storied past of Gig Harbor. Notable attractions include a large library, a huge 7,000 foot display area, a late 1800’s restored one-room schoolhouse and an old fishing boat that is 65 feet long!

Admission is around $7 for adults and kids under 5 get in free. If you’re visiting on a weekend, make sure to check their hours here to make sure you don’t show up when they’re closed!

Visit the Gig Harbor Marina

The picture above showcases the stunning view of the bay at sunset, but visiting the docks at any time of the day is rewarding. Browse around cute little shops, eat great food and stroll along the pier. Makes for a pretty great day.
